My second African painting and still not sure where to park/place this. Again the inspiration came from the Serengeti (Tanzania). I went a bit further then my former African painting and blended the sky better so there is less contrast there but much more fluidity. The eye catcher needed to be the tree in the centre where I deliberately did not flood the leaves and kept that to a minimum. Only seven colours were used for this (TW, CY, IR, YO, DS, SG and VDB) and a total of 13 brushes and pencils. The canvas is a 20"x24" and was prepared first with yellow acrylic paint, then a nice layer of liquid clear over it after it dried. Most fun and easy was the sky, the hills and the grass. Toughest were the branches and the tiny little yellow highlights in the leaves. In total, some 2,5 hours of fun! Hope you will enjoy this!
Thanks Patoex, from this series (the African ones) I stil have several models and ideas left so there will be more of these for sure. Thank you for your support!
